Nest Feathers and Twine - Formally Artist's Block Studio

The things that make a house a home and the stuff that holds is all together.

Years ago I started this blog with a mindset and goals that I have found have changed direction over time. I am excited to say that this blog has a new name.....Nest Feathers and Twine. I hope you come by and visit often. Feel free to get comfortable and kick off your shoes and join me on this journey of metamorphosis.

my studio table at the moment

i am trying not to panic......i have so much to finish before the art show......as you can see, lots of partially completed pieces..............

breathe...............
.....breathe..............in................ and out.......

i came across an idea in a sommerset magazine that i just had to try which slowed me down a bit, but i just had to give it a try and i am so glad i did. in the midst of the chaos i also decided to jump in and just make a few of my own chains and clasps......nope....i could not just stick with what i know....as hard as i tried to wait until after the art show to try these neat new things.....i just couldn't. it seemed fighting the urge was taking up more time than just going for it, so i did.

'a bunch of keys' another piece up for sale soon!

a 1920's game piece, 'a bunch of keys' and a piece of a 1900's hymnal have been soldered between
2 pieces of glass. antique keys with words from a 1930's book dangle from a hand made, and hand buffed stainless steel chain.

graduation gift

made this 2 sided initial charm for one of stephie's friends who graduated this year.
used vintage papers, german scrap, and 2 different 'a' stamps. added a swarvoski crystal and tada!

i jazzed up the gift box by transferring an inkjet image with gel medium.

saturday morning

woke up at 5:45 to our backyard blanketed in a heavy fog, it was so beautiful and peaceful, just wish the camera could have picked it up.

a raccoon came to visit our pond

and was probably greeted by this guy....his buddy is camera shy and plunged back under the water when he saw the camera.

i am back...again

just wanted to say hi real quick, and let y'all know i am back!

my computer was down since my last entry....the 21s of may! yikes! almost 1500 emails to go through....my eyes feel like they are going to fall out of my face and my head is pounding! of course we find the problem just hours before the cable company was to come to help us figure out the problem!

been busy in my studio....have lots of art pics to upload.

so far we are surviving summer break around here....two weeks down.....many more to go!

i will be back later with a few pics......right now i have to do my chores.
