The things that make a house a home and the stuff that holds is all together.

Years ago I started this blog with a mindset and goals that I have found have changed direction over time. I am excited to say that this blog has a new name.....Nest Feathers and Twine. I hope you come by and visit often. Feel free to get comfortable and kick off your shoes and join me on this journey of metamorphosis.

More art coming soon..........

Well, it has been a few very, very, very, busy days around here! I am working on several pieces at once, and hope to have them posted soon! Last week I received an antique picture album in the mail I had won off of EBAY, and my daughter and I sat down and looked through the pictures. I have got a ton of ideas for some form of art to do with them, some serious and funny! She and I wrote down the first thoughts that popped into our heads as we looked at them! I can't wait to actually 'do' the art part! I am hoping to start this evening. Last night the kiln my mom ordered online came, and we are all so excited. My mom, sister, and myself are going to start working with fused glass, dichroic glass, lampwork beads, and PMC (precious metal clay) I am so excited, I can not wait to start playing with that stuff. I took a bit of a break today to check out some websites, blogs, and typepads I have in my favorites, I saw that some have links and counters on their blogs so I thought I am going to do that............NOT! I could not understand a word of any of it to install , so I guess until I find someone to help sort that all out I will do without! I have also been busy downloading new pictures on my picturetrail, but I still have loads more pictures to download into my albums! If you have a minute go take a look!(click on this this ---->) www.picturetrail.com/ntuart.

Well, I am off to do some housework, since there is no such thing as a cleaning fairy, and then to work in my studio! I have a million ideas bouncing around in my head and just no time to get them all out! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, and come back soon!

A closer look at the heart and key. Posted by Hello

The left side has a quote I love: " When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught to fly. " Barbara J Winter. On the right some of the things I value most: my husband, children, health, wisdom, time and of course ART! On the left side I finally got a chance to use my Vintage Glass Glitter I bought from Redlead awhile back!  Posted by Hello

I am so excited about this necklace. Just last month I bought the shell heart locket in Kimmswick. I knew I wanted to put some sort of collage on the inside, but did not know what the theme should be. The other night while playing in my studio I just knew. Weird how that happens. My muse must have whispered in my ear! The outside of the heart says ' These things she holds dear to her heart.....' The first few inches of beads leading from the heart on either side and the buttons are antique that I have picked up from estate and garage sales. The old key says 'No key required" The clasp is also antique. Posted by Hello

This is the inside. I am much happier with that! The left side has a picture of Bill's dad as a baby holding a dragonfly charm. There is "grass" on the bottom. It is then 'sealed' off with mica. The right side holds the booklet that has my favorite quotes on flight. The booklet is below.  Posted by Hello

This is the front of the canvas book. I keep debating if I added just a bit too much and junked it up, but everybody else who has seen does not think so. I still don't know....... Posted by Hello

Quote for the moment
