Nest Feathers and Twine - Formally Artist's Block Studio

The things that make a house a home and the stuff that holds is all together.

Years ago I started this blog with a mindset and goals that I have found have changed direction over time. I am excited to say that this blog has a new name.....Nest Feathers and Twine. I hope you come by and visit often. Feel free to get comfortable and kick off your shoes and join me on this journey of metamorphosis.

the title says it all

at 5:24 this morning i woke up to something soft and fuzzy on my arm. thinking it was my hubby sweetly telling me good morning i opened my eyes and smiled and turned to tell him the same, of course i was confused as to why he was awake 12 minutes before the alarm was due to sound off.

suddenly i realize the hubs, he is still sawing logs, the cat is standing on me batting at my arm and making a strange sound.

next thing i know i am screaming and jumping straight up off the bed in record speed for any day, but this morning my body was not planning on moving with any speed at all due to aching muscles since the kids and i had started back up on our daily 3 mile hikes.

the soft and fuzzy i felt on my arm that woke me up was a mouse. a gift from moan-uh our cat.

this cat is devoted to me. i am lucky to have the honor of her love. rarely do i ever go to the bathroom by myself. on days when the kids are not home she goes where i go. patiently waiting for me to finish up whatever it is i am doing to give her a bit of attention. once i am up for the morning she quickly climbs onto my side of the bed and lays her head on my pillow.

moan-uh and i talk to each other quite often. i know exactly what each purr and meow means. every morning
